Open Adoptions: Making Them Work for Your Family

This workshop will address issues that are unique to adoptive families with open relationships with birth family members. Discussion will include roles, how relationships may change over time, and current research.

6th Annual Eastern European / Central Asian Heritage Festival
Saturday, October 17, 2009 - noon - 3:00 pm
The festival will celebrate the culture of Eastern European / Central Asian countries. Join other families for an afternoon of good company and fun activities. Help your child appreciate their country of birth and meet other children with a similar history.
Developmental Stages Experienced by Children Who Were Adopted
Monday, October 26, 2009 - 7:00 to 9:00 pm
This workshop will discuss how children understand adoption at different ages. The presentation will also include information on the role of parents in helping children to express feelings and explore issues related to adoption.
14th Annual Adoption Fair
Monday, November 2, 2009 - 7:00 to 9:00 pm
Adoption agencies, adoption attorneys, social workers, immigration representatives, pediatrician and adoptive parents will be available to share information on how to build a family by older child, domestic infant, and international adoption.
